We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer/Backend Developer with over 8 years of hands-on experience to join our TLV team remotely.You will play a crucial role in shaping the architecture of our product, focusing on building distributed, scalable systems and optimizing data platforms for multi-engine environments. This is an opportunity to work independently, make meaningful decisions, and drive innovation in a fast-moving environment.

Required skills:
- 8+ years of experience in backend development and data engineering roles
- Experience in python
- Deep expertise in AWS infrastructure
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile startup environment
- In-depth knowledge of distributed compute systems and data platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code solutions (Terraform, Pulumi etc.)
- Basic familiarity with frontend development
- Experience with big data technologies like Spark, Iceberg, and Calcite
- Experience with Rust or a willingness to learn
Scope of work:
- Design and build the backend for our platform, enabling seamless integration across multiple compute engines
- Work closely with design partners to iterate on the platform, to delight them and improve our value proposition
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python, with the opportunity to use modern technologies like Spark, DuckDB and Iceberg
- Contribute to the entire development lifecycle, from system architecture design to deployment and ongoing improvements
- Leverage infrastructure as code to streamline both the customer onboarding process and our internal development workflows, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for all stakeholders
