Why hire software developers in UAE

Overview

The UAE has emerged as a leading hub for software development in the Middle East, driven by its strong focus on technology and innovation. Software development is a rapidly growing industry in the country, with surging demand for developers as the UAE undergoes a digital transformation.

Among the emirates, Dubai stands out as the most populous city and a major international hub, attracting numerous digital nomads who choose to work here.

Dubai provides strong reasons to choose it as your software development hub. It offers a favorable business environment, boasts high-quality infrastructure, provides access to a pool of skilled talent, and offers a tax-free environment. Additionally, Dubai benefits from an expanding market due to the rising demand for digital transformation and innovation across various industries.

Employment Conditions Overview

Payroll Cycle

In the UAE, the payroll cycle is typically monthly and payment is made 1 time per month according to the country law.

Employer Taxes

In Dubai, employers are responsible for contributing 12.50% toward the total employment cost.

Overtime Pay

In the UAE, overtime work is compensated according to employment contracts or collective agreements. There are two rates for overtime: 150.00% of the regular salary rate for work between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. (nighttime overtime) and 125.00% for any other time. Additionally, employees are entitled to an extra paid day off and overtime pay at 150% of their regular pay for work on Fridays.

Paid Leave

In the UAE, paid leave is typically set in the employment contract, with a minimum of 30 days of paid leave per year after completing one year of service. Employees accrue two days of leave per month for employment of over six months but less than one year. This paid leave is in addition to any public holidays. According to the new labor law, employers are required to pay the employee's salary before the commencement of annual leave. Employers now have the discretion to set policies that limit the carryover of leave, requiring employees to utilize their annual leave within the applicable annual leave year.

Sick Leave

Employees with a minimum of three months of service are entitled to paid sick leave, up to a maximum of 90 days per year. They must provide a medical certificate within 48 hours of the first day of sickness. During the first 15 days of sickness, employees receive 100.00% of their regular salary rate. This reduces to 50.00% for the following 30 days, and any additional sickness within a year is unpaid (up to a total of 90 days per year).

Public and Provincial Holidays

Notice Period

The minimum mandatory notice period is 30 days, according to labor law. However, the length of employment determines the specific notice period for employees under the DIFC employment law. Here are the notice periods based on length of employment:

- For jobs lasting 1 to 5 months: 2 weeks' notice
- For up to 5 years of employment: 1 month's notice
- For 5+ years of employment: 90 days' notice
- A minimum of 14 days notice is required during the probation period. If an employee resigns during the probation period to join another company within the UAE, they must give 30 days' notice. However, if a foreign worker is leaving the UAE, they only need to provide 14 days' notice.

13th Month Bonus

There is no requirement for a 13th-month salary payment in the United Arab Emirates.

Grow your tech business with software developers in UAE

Launching a standalone business operation in the UAE for team development can be a challenging and costly endeavor, often accompanied by considerable legal fees.

Simultaneously, navigating the complexities of UAE labor laws and satisfying employee expectations present intricate and rigorous challenges. This task is further complicated by the need to secure precise and up-to-date employment information specific to the UAE. Moreover, the management of contracts and the oversight of invoices through emails and spreadsheets are prone to disorganization and mistakes.

In this scenario, ensuring compliance is critical, demanding meticulous adherence to UAE regulations, especially concerning taxes and legal requirements.

ALLSTARSIT simplifies this process by providing a comprehensive solution for the identification and recruitment of employees in the UAE, managing HR and payroll, and ensuring compliance is seamlessly automated. Our approach streamlines the entire process, rendering it straightforward and devoid of complications.
